Do we need an [october] tag

In my opinion we do NOT need month tags. I have had a look at the three questions which have the october tag. In all cases the question is not about the month but about traveling in the time period in ...

How to handle the [ist] tag after the IATA code IST is transferred to Istanbul Airport?

We could mass-retag ist to former-ist on the day it closes, so anyone searching for just "Istanbul" will at least see in the tags that it's possibly obsolete. (If someone wants to go through and fix ...

Do 'children' and 'minors' mean the same thing?

In a nutshell, the way I understand it; the children tag is for questions about dealing with children, and issues faced due to children. The minors tag probably has more to do with issues that affect ...

Can we add travel-card tag?

If I have a question about a stored value card for use on mass transit, it really means I have a question about the transit system. A question about how a Presto works is a question about how TTC ...

Since all but one West Bank questions were also tagged with Palestine, I've merged the West Bank tag into the Palestine one. This isn't a political statement, just a matter of easier tagging. Thanks ...

Tag Frankfurt ambiguity

A longstanding convention here is to adopt the orthography used by the English Wikipedia, in order to avoid fights over historical rivalries and grudges (e.g. Derry vs. Londonderry, Danzig vs. Gdansk)....

Should we rename and repurpose the 'tap-water' tag to 'water' to cover filtering and purifying?

I'm in favour of renaming to drinking-water. Although most questions on TSE are about dodgy tap water worldwide, drinking water doesn't always come from taps. Our tags should accommodate this.

How to handle the [ist] tag after the IATA code IST is transferred to Istanbul Airport?

I don't know about night life, but drinking as a synonym for alcohol seems to me as arbitrary and unjustified as if we change "eating" into a synonym for "pizza".
