comment Thank You @GayotFow! RIP
@MadHatter I certainly will (he has a young family, wife and son, as well as several adult children). During the long struggle with his illness, for reasons I don't comprehend, he decided to remove himself from the internet (deleting his blog etc).

@HankyPanky GayotFow shuffled off this mortal coil last night, 27 June, and this was my promise to him, composed by me, but oblique and reviewed by him in true Gayot fashion.

comment Why was this travel related post migrated to 3D printing?
And, in the process, the TSE upvotes and answer acceptance disappeared. The answer was accepted; why was it even touched? OP asked about visa application, not about emigration. I voted for you, Jonathan, but might you not be confusing your role as a mod and, perhaps, damaging it?

comment If I have a more general answer, should I create a new general question?
And I agree, as well.. you could make it even broader, as in addition visa free for permanent residents in half-a-dozen countries, Mexico allows visa-free entry to a vast number of nationals, and for many purposes (tourist, transit, business)... and everyone else gets to TWOV through Mexico City (under controlled conditions)...

comment Why were my examples edited out
@chx I agree with you, that your answer was fine as it was, and that Jan should not have edited it out. I'll ask him to explain.

comment Should we have a canonical question for serial refusals?
Totally agree, the answer is more likely to have suggestions, not on how to get the visa but how to change circumstances that may improve the chance of being granted one (with the first one being, stop applying). And, rather than migrate those that might better fit on Expats, might we just close them? To me, btw, two refusals is sufficient for serial.
